Knit it, Violet!
Finished objects, works in progress, and lots of rambling about two sticks and some string...
A note to my secret pal...
Even though you commented with your real name, i read the comment through my email, so i am being a good secret-paller and not clicking on the link to your profile! so, your real identity will still be a surprise! ;)

sheepy love
now don't get my wrong, i love amy singer. and i looooooove
Knitty.com. her new book is full of lovely patterns.
BUT No Sheep signs break my little heart! i know it's all in good fun, but as a sheep loving wool enthusiast, the little fluffy creatures and knitting are innately connected for me. i thank my lucky stars that i'm not allergic.
but let me let you in on a little secret....that sheep i'm knitting? the debby bliss pattern? i'm using acrylic. shame! i know!
but it's all in good fun.

just a quick note...
look what i picked up for $16 a few weeks ago at a local used bookstore:
Click here to see the going price on Amazon! proof you should shop local and used!
in other news, i haven't finished anything lately, but i do have proof of my startitis:
Debbie Bliss' sheep pattern, in worsted rather than DK. this guy is going to be big!
my aunt and cousin have also sent me some wonderful knitting books lately, but i'll post actual reviews of them soon.
and today is the 15th, so if you're my secret pal and you're reading this, hello!

wool for...spring?
sorry for the lack of posts lately; i took a trip to orange county for my boyfriend's brother's wedding. i didn't get much knitting done, but it was fun anyway!
before i left i finished this up:
a nice noro scarf just in time for our beautiful spring weather! well...at least it will still be nice for chilly mornings waiting for the bus. if you've been reading for awhile, you might remember the scarf from my pile of unfinished christmas presents. well...time ran out and the giftee received a store-bought present from me, which worked out for the best anyway. so, without an ounce of guilt, this scarf is mine now!
2 skeins of noro kureyon, 1X1 rib. US 10.5 needles. the colors are actually much more beautiful than this setting-sun picture shows.
and what have you been working on lately? stay tuned for updates on kellen's endless black stockinette sweater. i'm on sleeve II!
