socktober fest! and plans... today is my older brother's birthday (happy 25th, trav!) and also the first day of Socktoberfest!

to kick things off, i finished up my stripey socks: details: fortissima colori socka color #3005 (i think...the label isn't in english...) US size 1 needles, basic sock recipe.

ok, in all fairness i finished knitting them on wednesday, but i didn't graft the second toe until today. after all my hard work to get the stripes to line up, a minor difference in the skein left me with one pink and purple toe...and one pink toe. doh! they're still cute though. they were origionally going to be a gift for my grandma, but i want to make her something better, so i think i'll keep these ones for myself.

my other soctoberfest goals:
*make kellen's almost argyle socks for Christmas:
*decide on a pattern and yarn for grandma's socks...and ideally, finish them!

speaking of grandmas...i'm all ready to knit my other grandma's swallotail shawl:

also on the needles: a baby pea pod set for my mom's coworkers (they're having a boy!) and the branching out, which has been getting more tinking than knitting lately.
